WASHINGTON – The weekly awards continued for the No. 24 Georgetown men's soccer team as junior
Ryan Schewe was named the Division I National Player of the Week by the United Soccer Coaches on Wednesday. Schewe is the reigning BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week and this is the first national award of his career.

- Acting as a brick wall in goal for Georgetown, Schewe improved to 7-0-1 on the year, since taking over as the Hoyas starter on Sept. 24 against Creighton.
- Playing all 180 minutes in a pair of shutout wins over Seton Hall and then-No. 9 Xavier, Schewe posted a 0.0 GAA, while corralling all 13 saves sent his way for a perfect 1.000 save percentage.
- In seven conference games, Schewe leads the BIG EAST with a 0.838 save percentage, ranks third in saves per game (4.43) and sits in second in goals-against average (0.86).
- Overall, he has a 0.71 GAA in nine games played and a 0.875 save percentage ranking him fourth in the nation.
- This is the first national award of his career, and it was his first weekly award after earning a nod to the honor roll on Oct. 3.
