WASHINGTON – The Georgetown field hockey team fell 2-0 to the Old Dominion University Monarchs on Friday afternoon at Cooper Field. With the loss, the Hoyas fall to a record of 3-10, while the Monarchs advance to 8-2 for the season.
How it Happened
- The Monarchs opened up the scoring with a goal by Aubrey Mytych late in the first quarter.
- The second quarter was scoreless, with each team generating chances and registering two shots.
- The Monarchs looked the more dangerous team in the third quarter, registering five shots to the Hoyas' two.
- Old Dominion extended its lead to two with a goal early in the fourth quarter by Marlon de Bruijne, and the Monarchs would take the win 2-0.
