WASHINGTON – Georgetown University football team captured nine All-Patriot League selections as announced by the league office on Monday.
Joshua Tomas,
Pierce Holley,
Mac Hollensteiner,
Talati Polamalu, and
Mason Gudger all earned Second Team Offense honors, while
Ibrahim Kamara,
Justin Fonteneaux,
Wedner Cadet and
Brock Biestek were named to the Second Team Defense squad. The all-conference teams were voted on by the league's seven head coaches.
JOSHUA TOMAS - WR
- Tomas became the single-season leader in Georgetown history with 1,231 receiving yards in 2022.
- He also became the first player in program history to hit 100 receptions for the season.
- Managed seven-consecutive Patriot League weekly honors this year tallying eight overall.
- Tomas finished the season leading the nation with 100 receptions, 111.9 receiving ypg and 9.1 catches per game.
- This is his second-career Patriot League postseason honor.
PIERCE HOLLEY - QB
- Holley set single-season records for pass attempts with 442 and passing yards tallying 2,882 in 2022.
- Finished the season ranking fourth in the nation and second in the Patriot League in completions per game with 26.55 per contest.
- This is his first-career Patriot League postseason award.
MAC HOLLENSTEINER - OL
- Hollensteiner was named one of 156 William V. Campbell Trophy Semifinalists by the National Football Foundation.
- He appeared in all 11 games on the offensive line for the Hoyas
- This is his first-career Patriot League postseason award.
TALATI POLAMALU - OL
- Polamalu played in ten games for the Blue & Gray this season.
- This is his second-career Patriot League postseason selection after earning a spot on the second team a season ago.
MASON GUDGER - RB
- Gudger was named both the Patriot League Rookie and Special Teams Player of the Week and FedEx Ground FCS National Freshman of the Week after becoming one of only two players in Patriot League history to take two kickoffs to the house in the same game.
- His 94-yard return is the second-longest against a Division I FCS opponent in program history.
- This is his first-career postseason honor.
IBRAHIM KAMARA - DL
- Kamara appeared in seven games with 12 solo tackles and 14 assists as well as 2.5 TFL and two sacks on the year.
- This is his second-career Patriot League postseason selection after earning a spot on the second team a season ago.
JUSTIN FONTENEAUX - LB
- Fonteneaux led the Hoyas with 52 solo tackles and 27 assists as well as 5.0 TFL and 1.5 sacks.
- Earned a pair of Patriot League Honorable Mentions this season.
- This is his first-career postseason honor.
WEDNER CADET - DB
- Cadet finished the season ranking second in FCS with 125 return yards on interceptions and his five picks tied with three others for second.
- Earned one Patriot League Honorable Mention.
- This is his first-career postseason honor.
BROCK BIESTEK - STNS
- Named the Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week after registering a blocked punt and four tackles on special teams.
- He had 10 catches for 125 yards and one touchdown this season.
- This is his first-career postseason honor.
