WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Head Football Coach
Rob Sgarlata has announced the signing of 14 players to National Letters of Intent to the incoming class of 2023 as part of college football's Early Signing Day. The 14 student-athletes will come to the Hilltop as members of Georgetown's Class of 2027 and will join the Hoyas for the Fall 2023 season.

"The people make Georgetown special," Head Coach Sgarlata said. "Over the past year our staff has recruited nationally to find players who excel in all aspects of their high school careers. This group will bring a wealth of success both in the classroom and on the field to our program. I am very thankful to our coaches and staff for their tireless efforts over the past year to bring players from nine different states to join our Hoya football family."Â

The 14 newcomers hail from nine different states on the East Coast as well as California. Overall, the group includes 10 offensive players and four on defense.

Cooper Blomstrom- Defensive LineÂ
Blomstrom attended St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire. He was a starter all four years and was a captain his senior year. As captain, he led his team to a bowl championship, earned All-New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) honors and All-Evergreen MVP as a senior. During his time at St. Paul's, Blomstrom accumulated 323 tackles, 24 sacks and 56 tackles for loss.

"Cooper is an explosive athlete who brings immediate value to the defensive line room. His ability to lockout and shed blocks paired with his natural rushing ability will help us win games."

Burke Carroll- Tight End
Carroll attended Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C. He was named to the first team All-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference. The incoming freshman also played basketball and captained his rugby team.Â

"Burke is a complete tight end with size, athleticism, and great receiving ability. He has the potential to be an elite Patriot League player. We are really excited to keep this local talent. Burke will be an excellent addition to our offense and to our program."

Bryce Cox- Running BackÂ
Cox attended Mount St. Joe's in Baltimore, Maryland. The incoming freshman was named captain during his junior and senior years. Cox earned All-MIAA honors as well as offensive player of the year. During his time at Mount St. Joe's, Cox accumulated 300 all-purpose yards and 95 kick return yards. Cox also competed for the track team during his high school career.Â

"Bryce is a physical athlete. We are pleased to have him as a part of the running back room. He is good between the tackles and is fast enough to create explosive runs. He is also a very powerful runner who runs through defenders and gets a good amount of yards after contact."

Zeraun Daniel- Wide Receiver
Daniel attended Poly Prep Country Day in Brooklyn, New York. He was named captain his senior year as well as defensive MVP. As captain, Daniel helped lead his team to a Metropolitan Independent Football League Championship. During his time at Poly Prep, the wide receiver accumulated 1,026 all-purpose yards and nine touchdowns. Daniel was also a member of the track team and finished in the top 25 in New York state for the high jump.Â

"Zeraun is a superb athlete who we are very excited to add to our wide receiver room. He has versatility as an athlete to add to special teams as well. He will definitely be able to help us win games in the patriot league."

Titus Heimuli- Wide Receiver
Heimuli attended Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, Connecticut. He was named captain during his senior season. The incoming freshman led his team to a All-New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Championship. Heimulli's uncle, Lakei Heimuli played for the Chicago Bears in 1987.Â

"Titus is a very polished wide receiver that we can't wait to get the ball to on the outside. His route running skills and competitive nature are skills that we are excited to add to our wide receiver room."

Jordan Holmes- QuarterbackÂ
Holmes attended Yorba Linda High School in Yorba Linda, California. In his junior season, Holmes was named captain and picked as his team's offensive MVP. The incoming freshman was a multi-sport athlete as he captained the track team his senior year. He holds the record at Yorba Linda for the 100m (10.9) and the 4x100m (42.5). Â

"Jordan possesses a unique skill set of arm talent, vision and ability to extend a play when necessary. He combines smooth fluid mechanics and quick release with an elusive, explosive running style. Jordan's unique skill set will make him extremely difficult for the defense to defend."

Jacob Holtschlag- Quarterback
Holtschlag attended Milton Academy in Milton, Massachusetts. He helped lead his team to a 2020 and 2022 Independent School League (ISL) Championship title. In his senior year, he was named captain and earned All-New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) and Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic First-Team honors. During his time at Milton, Holtschlag had a 60% completion rate, 2,227 yards passing, 20 passing touchdowns, 33 carries for 233 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns. Holtschlag also played lacrosse and started his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. His father Michael Holtshlag (football) and his mother Nacy Holtshlag (softball) were student-athletes at Harvard while his uncle David Holtshlag played football at Yale. Â

"Jacob demonstrates outstanding arm talent, pocket presence and accuracy in the dropback pass game. He also has the ability to throw well on the move, coupled with strength and solid speed on the edge. Jacob's size, athletic ability and competitive nature will provide him with the ingredients to develop into an outstanding quarterback in the Hoya's offensive system."

Correy Mays Jr.- Offensive LineÂ
Mays attended Brookwood High School in Snellville, Georgia. He was named captain during his junior and senior years. As captain, Mays lead his team to two Georgia Rivalry Championships, two Battle of Five Forks Championships, a Georgia (7-AAAAAAA) Region Four Championship and a Corky Kell Classic Championship. The incoming freshman had a stellar senior season earning scholar student-athlete of the month and two offensive player of the game awards. He holds the Brookwood record for the highest blocking average in a game at 98%. Mays' offensive line had the best overall season with no sacks allowed and a 94% blocking rate. The newest Hoya is also a four-sport athlete competing in baseball, soccer and track and field.

"Correy is a ferocious competitor who has dominated at the highest level of high school football. His strength at the point of attack and feet in pass protection make him a great fit."

Jakob Parker- Linebacker
Parker attended Wellesley High School in Wellesley, Massachusetts. The New England native was named captain in his junior and senior years. Parker was named the League All-Star during his junior and senior seasons along with earning the Metro-West All-Star title in his final season. During his time at Wellesley, Parker accumulated 250 tackles, 19 sacks and 22 touchdowns.Â

"Jake is an aggressive and physical linebacker. He has a high football IQ. He can run and is very productive."

Kevin Quinn- Offensive LineÂ
Quinn attended St. Augustine Prep School in Richland, New Jersey. As a junior, Quinn helped his team to a Conference Championship title. The 6-foot-5 newcomer earned New Jersey All-Non Public and South Jersey All-Academic Team honors and was named an Atlantic City Press All-Star in his senior season. In the classroom, Quinn was a member of the National Honors Society as well as the Spanish National Honors Society.Â

"Kevin is a long and athletic tackle prospect who had a dominant senior season. His athleticism and finish make him a great fit in our offense."

Jorge Ruiz- Offensive LineÂ
Ruiz attended Iona Prep in New Rochelle, New York. He was named captain during his senior year. As captain, Ruiz led his team to a city and state championship. Ruiz earned All-League and All-State honors during his junior and senior years.Â

"Jorge came to our summer camp and demonstrated elite athleticism and strength. He has had an excellent career at a great program and will do the same here."

Mouhammed Sow- Defensive Line
Sow attended St. Charles High School in Waldorf, Maryland. He was a starter all four years and was a captain his senior year. The incoming freshman helped lead his team to the Maryland State semifinals.

"Mouhamed is a powerful athlete who brings versatility to the defensive tackle position. His twitch and strength will cause consistent havoc in the Patriot League."

Jayvin Pyle-Thompson- Wide Receiver
Pyle-Thompson attended Central Valley High School in Monaca, Pennsylvania. He was a starter all four years and was a captain his senior year. During his high school career, Pyle-Thompson was a four-time first team all-state and first team all-conference honoree. The incoming freshman was a part of three district championships and two state championships. While at Central Valley, Pyle-Thompson had 164 rushing yards, 1,716 receiving yards, 103 solo tackles, Â 270 tackles and 34 touchdowns. Pyle-Thompson also holds the school record for interceptions in a game (4) and interceptions in a season (11). He also was a four-year starter for the basketball team and earned first-team all-conference honors each season.Â
"Jayvin is a big-body receiver that we are very excited to add to the offense. He has very good speed, strength and ball skills that will help us be able to win on 50/50 balls on the outside."

Rayden Waweru- Defensive BackÂ
Waweru attended Brooks Prep School in North Andover, Massachusetts. He was named team captain in his junior and senior years. Waweru holds the record at Brooks for most interceptions in a game and ended his senior season with seven. The defensive back also earned All-Independent School League (ISL) and All-New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) honors along with the Boston Herald All-Scholastic Award. Wareru also played two seasons for the New England Outlaws club team and was named captain his senior year.Â

"We are extremely excited to add an explosive playmaker that has multiple skill sets. Rayden has a nose for the ball, making plays in space and bringing physicality close to the box. He will be a great fit in our defense."
