Georgetown Travels to Seton Hall on Wednesday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's basketball team will return to BIG EAST Conference action on Wednesday as the Hoyas travel to South Orange, New Jersey to face the Seton Hall University Pirates in a 4 p.m. matchup at Walsh Gymnasium. The Hoyas are currently 8-4 overall and 1-2 in BIG EAST play.

About the Hoyas
  • The Hoyas are coming off of a 69-44 victory over North Texas to close out nonconference play last week.
  • Junior captain Kelsey Ransom made history tying Georgetown's single-game record for steals with 10 to her credit.
  • Ransom led the way with an impressive stat line leading the team in points (20), rebounds (7), assists (5) and steals (10) en route to the record.
  • Freshman Kennedy Fauntleroy was also in double figures with 13 points off of the bench, while sophomore Brianna Scott had seven boards along with four points on the afternoon.
  • The Hoyas shot 41.3% (26-63) from the field, while allowing 37.0% (17-46) shooting by the Mean Green.
  • Georgetown forced 24 turnovers on 15 steals, and outrebounded the Mean Green 41-29.
  • On Monday, Fauntleroy was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the third time in the past four weeks. Additionally, Ransom earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
  • Fauntleroy is the BIG EAST's top scoring freshman at 11.7 points per game and also ranks fourth among all BIG EAST players this season with her 2.3 steals per game average.
  • Ransom is leading the Hoyas in scoring and ranks 20th in the BIG EAST with 12.0 ppg as well as team bests in assists (46) and steals (35). She also averages 7.0 rpg which leads the Blue & Gray and ranks 11th in the league, and her 2.9 spg leads the BIG EAST Conference.
About the Pirates
  • Seton Hall is 9-4 on the season and 2-1 in BIG EAST Conference play.
  • The Pirates are coming off of a 98-73 loss to No. 9 UConn on Wednesday.
  • In the loss, senior Lauren Park-Lane became Seton Hall's all-time assist leader and Sidney Cooks had a team-high 18 points.
  • Park-Lane is leading the team in scoring with 20.9 ppg, Cooks is second and tops the squad on the glass with 6.6 rpg.
  • The Pirates' two league victories came over Xavier (74-55) and Marquette (82-78).
