Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Four in Double Figures as Hoyas Fall to Creighton

WASHINGTON – Despite a quartet of Hoyas registering double figures, the Georgetown University's men's basketball team (6-17, 0-12 BE) dropped Saturday's contest 80-66 to the Creighton University Bluejays (15-8, 7-5 BE) at Capital One Arena.

ON THE RECORD
"You have a loss and you try to forget about it and move on to the next one. We're going to have to watch film with the mistakes that we made and make adjustments to get ready for practice and the game on Monday. " - Head Coach Patrick Ewing

"Offensively, I just try to remain a threat at all times - with the ball, without a ball - whether it's setting screens for my teammates, cutting, they find me when I'm open so I just try to make the shots when they're there." - Donald Carey on his 12-game streak of double-digit scoring

"As for the locker room, we still believe in each other every day in practice. Every gameday, we still approach it as if the record is reversed. That's how we have to do it if we are going to turn the season around. We just try to keep each other's spirits up, practice hard, focus on the details - and convert it over to the game." - Carey on the team's spirit

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Georgetown ended the half with a pair of triples from Rice and a trey from Carey, pulling to within five, 42-37.
  • Carey banked a shot in from deep to open GU's scoring in the second half and followed it up with the reverse layup to make it a two-possession game before a Harris bucket cut the deficit to four (50-46, 14:30).
