WASHINGTON – Despite a second-half surge, the Georgetown University's men's basketball team (6-21, 0-16 BE) couldn't find the equalizer in the final moments and fell 68-65 to the DePaul University Blue Demons (13-14, 4-13 BE) at Capital One Arena on Thursday night.

HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
- Aminu Mohammed flirted with a double-double, recording a team-high 18 points and nine boards to go along with four steals. The Hoya freshman shot 6-for-14 from the floor and 5-of-7 from the line.
- Donald Carey recorded his 16th-straight game in double figures, scoring 15 points and hitting three triples.
- Jalin Billingsley recorded a career-high 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor and a pair of treys to go with three blocks.
- Malcolm Wilson shot a perfect 3-for-3 from the field and 3-for-5 from the line for nine points while adding a pair of swats.
- The Hoyas outscored DePaul in the paint (32-30) while recording more steals (11-10).
- The Blue & Gray shot 40.6% (13-32) from the floor in the second half while totaling 38.3% (23-60) for the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Mohammed scored the first five points for the Hoyas, hitting a triple and a layup to take a 5-4 edge (16:48).
- Georgetown battled back with a 9-2 run capped off by three straight from Ryan Mutombo to go up, 16-15 (9:11).
- DePaul scored 12 unanswered (6:05) before GU ended the half on a 10-3 run, pulling within four at the break (30-26)
- The Hoyas opened the half on a 5-0 stretch to take a 31-30 advantage (19:12).
- After the Blue Demons scored five-straight points, Georgetown retaliated with a 9-2 run to go up 40-37 (15:03).
- Carey swung the momentum in GU's favor, completing a four-point play to start a personal 6-0 run and giving GU a 50-45 lead (10:47).
- DePaul scored eight unanswered (5:19) but once again, Georgetown stormed back with a 9-1 run finished off on a stepback triple by Billingsley to beat the shot clock, lifting the Hoyas to a 64-63 lead (2:15).
- GU had three opportunities to tie the game in the final 30 seconds but could not capitalize, falling to DePaul, 68-85.
