WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team (6-22, 0-17 BIG EAST) heads to Newark, N.J., to take on the Seton Hall Pirates (18-9, 9-8 BIG EAST) at Prudential Center on Wednesday, March 2. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

ABOUT THE HOYAS

• The Hoyas are coming off an 86-77 setback against then-No. 21/20 UConn on Sunday. Dante Harris led four Hoyas in double figures and matched a career-high 23 points on 7-of-10 shooting from the floor, 3-of-4 from distance and 6-of-7 from the charity stripe.
• Aminu Mohammed registered 16 points, going 12-for-16 from the line while Donald Carey recorded his 17th-straight contest in double figures, scoring 13 points on 45.5% (5-11) shooting. Collin Holloway posted 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting to round out the Hoyas in double digits.
• GU outscored the Huskies off turnovers (14-12) and in the paint (32-30) while recording 11 steals to UConn's two.
• The Blue & Gray has four players averaging double figures: Mohammed (14.1 ppg), Carey (14 ppg), Harris (12 ppg) and Kaiden Rice (11.1 ppg).
• Over his span of 17-straight games in double figures, Carey is averaging 14.9 ppg, 44.5% shooting (85-191) and 39.8% from distance (45-113).
• In conference play, Carey is averaging 14.9 ppg, followed by Mohammed (13.7 ppg) and Harris (11.6 ppg).

 
ABOUT THE PIRATES

• Seton Hall has won four of its last six outings, including two wins against Xavier and victories over DePaul and Butler.  The Pirates dropped games against then-No. 15/15 Villanova and then-No. 24/24 UConn during that span.
• Jared Rhoden averages a team-high 16.1 ppg for the Pirates and grabs 7.0 rpg in 33.2 minutes of play. Rhoden scored a career-high 30 points during his last time out against Xavier. Seton Hall's Ike Obiagu leads the conference with 3.1 blocks/game (7th - NCAA).
• Seton Hall holds its opponents to a BE-best 30.6% shooting from beyond the arc and grabs 39.2 rpg to rank second.

 
ABOUT THE MATCHUP

• Wednesday marks the 115th all-time meeting between GU and Seton Hall, with the Hoyas holding a 61-53 advantage in the overall series.
• GU and Seton Hall have split the last four meetings with an even 2-2 record, with both wins coming in the 2020-21 season for the Hoyas. Georgetown's last victory over the Pirates came in the semifinals of the 2021 BIG EAST Tournament on March 12, 2021, en route to the program's eighth conference title.
