WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University women's tennis team defended home court at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School on Saturday, downing UConn 6-1 in the BIG EAST match. The Hoyas are 7-12 (3-3 BE) while the Huskies drop to 8-9 (2-2 BE) on the season.

Behind solid doubles performances from McHaley Ho/Chloe Bendetti and Olivia Ashton/Morgan Coburn, the Hoyas clinched the first point of the match. Junior Chloe Bendetti and sophomore Avantika Willy won two more points for Georgetown in the No. 2 and No. 1 matches. UConn's Alexsandra Karamyshev defeated freshman McHaley Ho in the No. 3 match as junior Agata Mikos dropped the first set in the No. 4 match. Mikos fought back and pushed it to three sets, eventually securing a win over Caroline Cook.

Junior Carmen Aizpurua won the No. 5 match after being pushed to a tiebreaker in the second set, and sophomore Morgan Coburn took down Denise Lai to finish the match with the Hoyas on top.
