INDIANAPOLIS - The Georgetown University baseball team picked up a series win with its 8-4 victory at Butler on Saturday afternoon. GU jumped to 22-14 overall and 4-5 in BIG EAST play while the Bulldogs fell to 16-20 on the year with a 2-4 conference record.
"An outstanding job by our guys to respond after a loss yesterday.
Matthew Sapienza, as a freshman, to give a performance like that against a really good offense, was phenomenal to see.
Tony Barreca and
Owen Carapellotti had amazing days offensively. We stayed consistent and cashed in with two outs. I'm really proud of our guys to pick up a series win on the road, especially in our conference." - Head Coach
Edwin Thompson on today's win
