WASHINGTON – Georgetown softball went 0-2 with DePaul in a doubleheader this afternoon after game one ended 10-2 and the second 17-0. The Hoyas are now 13-24 overall, 3-12 in conference, and the Blue Demons bump to 23-19 overall and 11-6 in the BIG EAST. First pitch for the last game of the series is set for 1 p.m. Eastern tomorrow (Noon CT).
How It Happened
- In game one, Georgetown's Cassie Henning launched a ball out of left field in the second to bring Kayla Dunn across home (2-0).
- DePaul responded in the second with a rivaling homer to center field to close the lead 2-1.
- The Demons' sac fly in the third leveled the score 2-2.
- DPU doubled in the fourth for a 3-2 lead followed by a grand slam for another four runs (7-2).
- DePaul added three more runs from a double and a walk to close the game out in the sixth 10-2.
- In game two, DePaul doubled to left in the first for a runner to cross home followed by a single to left for another Demon runner to get home (2-0).
- The Demons put up four runs in the second from two doubles driven to left and a double up the middle (6-0).
- In the third, DPU hit one, two, three, and four-RBI hits tallying ten runs (16-0).
- Scoring ended in the fourth with a DePaul homer and the game finished after the fifth (17-0).
