VILLANOVA, Pa. – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team earned the 2022 BIG EAST Regular Season Championship and the top-seed at the upcoming BIG EAST Championship, Presented by JEEP with a 13-7 victory on the road at Villanova in the regular season finale on Friday night. The Hoyas tie the program record with their 13th win of the season and sweep league play at 5-0.

How it Happened
- Villanova got on the scoreboard first before the Hoyas responded with three-straight. The Wildcats capped the scoring in the frame as GU took a 3-2 lead after 15 minutes of action.
- Georgetown went on a 5-0 run to open the second frame before VU scored their lone goal with 2:21 remaining to make it an 8-3 Hoya lead at the break.
- Another three-straight from the Hoyas to kick off the third gave the Blue & Gray a commanding 11-3 lead.
- Villanova would outscore the Hoyas 4-2 the rest of the way but it wouldn't be enough to overcome the deficit.

- Georgetown wins its second-straight BIG EAST regular season title – and first outright – after sharing the crown with Denver in 2021.
- The Hoyas also posted 13 wins in 1999, 2018, 2019 and 2021.
- Watson moves into a tie for 13th all-time in scoring at Georgetown, matching Hoya Hall of Famer Dan Martin's ('97) 136 points.
- Bundy moves into 22nd place all-time in career scoring with 118.
