WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's second-ranked men's lacrosse team hosts the first round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007 as it welcomes Delaware to Cooper Field on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. The Hoyas are the second overall seed in the tournament and earned an automatic bid after winning their fourth-straight BIG EAST Championship, while the Blue Hens advanced to Sunday's game following a mid-week win over Robert Morris in the opening round.

- The Hoyas are 15-1 overall, won both the BIG EAST regular season and tournament titles and set the program record for wins in a season.
- Georgetown is making its 15th appearance in the NCAA Tournament in program history. The Hoyas reached the semifinals in 1999 and the quarterfinals 10 times including last season in 2021.
- Graham Bundy Jr. leads the Hoyas with 67 (42G, 25A) points while Dylan Watson is hot on his trail with 64 (58G, 6A) and leads the NCAA in goals per game with 3.62.
- Alex Trippi adds 49 points (25G, 24A) while TJ Haley (10G, 29A), Connor Morin (29G, 8A) and Declan McDermott (28G, 7A) all chip in at least 30 points with 39, 37 and 35, respectively. Dylan Hess (13G, 5A) has 18 points, Colin Munro (6G, 5A) adds 11 and James Reilly (5G, 5A) has 10 to round out the Hoyas in double digits.
- Reilly has won 220 of 364 (.604) faceoffs on the year and leads the Hoyas with 134 ground balls. He is only the second player in program history to eclipse 100 ground balls in a season twice.
- Defensively, Will Bowen has been credited with 34 caused turnovers so far this season, tied for third most in a single campaign on the Hilltop, while Gibson Smith IV and Alex Mazzone have 21 and 19, respectively.
- In goal, Owen McElroy has been a brick wall, posting an 8.16 goals-against average to go with 158 saves and a .625 save percentage. His GAA is best in the nation and his save percentage ranks second.
Scouting Delaware
- The Blue Hens are 12-5 overall and advanced to face the Hoyas following a 20-8 victory over Robert Morris in the opening round.
- JP Ward leads Delaware with 69 points (38G, 31A) while Mike Robinson adds 64 (51G, 13A) and Tye Kurtz chips in 61 (46G, 15A).
- Logan Premtaj is UDel's top faceoff man, winning .489 (182-372) on the season to go with 74 ground balls.
- Defensively, Grant Owen has been credited with 30 caused turnovers and adds 43 ground balls.
- In goal, Matt Kelkeary has taken the reins between the pipes and has a 10.48 GAA to go with 123 saves and a .521 save percentage.

- Georgetown and Delaware have played nine times since 1998.
- The Hoyas are undefeated at 9-0 all-time against the Blue Hens.
