Hoyas Fall to Providence

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown field hockey team fell to the Providence College Friars 4-0 on Friday afternoon at Cooper Field. With the loss, the Hoyas fall to a record of 3-6, while the Friars advance to 4-5 for the season.
 
How it Happened
  • The Friars opened up scoring in the first two minutes of the match with a goal by Ally DeCoste.
  • The Friars followed up with a rebound goal by Nora Goddard-Despot late in the second quarter, bringing the score to 2-0 going into the half. 
  • With a penalty stroke early in the third quarter, the Friars extended their lead to three. 
  • The Friars followed up with another goal by Sophia Pompeo with five minutes remaining in the quarter. 
  • The final quarter was scoreless, with the Friars taking the win 4-0.

  •  Ciara Weets made six saves in the match for the Hoyas.
