Football Cruises to 43-12 Victory over Marist

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Georgetown University football team picked up a 43-12 victory over Marist on the road in the 2022 season opener on Saturday afternoon at Telley Stadium.

"The kids played really hard. We weren't perfect by any stretch but in a typical opener, you're looking for how consistent your team is going to be. We talked to our guys about coming out with relentless effort and you could see that all the way through the last drive in the fourth quarter. You could see our guys were really into the game and cheering for whoever was out there. We put together a good opener with a lot of great things and also a lot of things we need to fix as we prepare to come back home to the Hilltop against Lehigh next weekend." - Head Coach Rob Sgarlata on today's game and the 2022 campaign
