Football to Face No. 20/RV Fordham in New York on Saturday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team will look to bounce back against No. 20/RV Fordham on Saturday at Jack Coffey Field. The Hoyas enter the game at 1-3 overall and 0-1 in Patriot League action while the Rams are 3-1 and playing in their Patriot League opener.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • Despite Georgetown's loss to Columbia, two Hoyas earned Patriot League Weekly Awards. Dorrian Moultrie picked up his first career Special Teams Player of the Week behind a 117-yard performance on three kickoffs. His longest of the day (70 yards) set the Hoyas up for the their lone touchdown of the day
  • Joshua Tomas earned an honorable mention after reeling in nine passes for 118 yards against Columbia, putting him 21 yards shy of 2,000 career receiving yards (1,979) and tying Rob Rosenthal for fourth all-time. 
  • Tomas (7.8), Moultrie (5.5) and Cameron Crayton (5.5) are ranked second and tied for third, respectively, in the Patriot League in receptions per game. The three Hoyas also all sit inside the top 30 in FCS with Tomas ranked fifth.
  • GU's secondary is ranked inside the FCS top 25 and second in conference with five interceptions. Freshman Wedner Cadet has logged two of the team's five picks and is one of seven freshmen in FCS to have at least two interceptions through the first four weeks.
  • Fellow rookie Mateen Ibirogba (2.0 / -13) is also ranked among some of the top freshmen in FCS, being one of 13 to register two or more sacks this season.

ABOUT THE RAMS
  • The Rams are coming off of a tough 59-52 loss to Ohio University despite a seven-touchdown performance from FCS top ranked quarterback and reigning Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year Tim DeMorat.
  • The senior slinger leads the nation in the following passing categories: efficiency (201.4), touchdowns (22), yards (1,805) and yards per game (463.8).
  • Fotis Kokosioulis has benefitted from DeMorat's success in the pocket, reeling in an FCS-leading 44 passes for 683 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
  • Fordham is the winningest New York area college football team since 2012 with 67 wins.

THE MATCHUP
  • Saturday's meeting will mark the 68th meeting between Georgetown and Fordham.
  • In their last contest at Jack Coffey Field, the Hoyas stunned the Rams 23-11 in 2018. Herman Moultrie III managed two late touchdowns to put the game away while Crayton reeled in an 18-yard pass from Gunther Johnson on the opening drive.
