Hoyas to Host Seton Hall on Wednesday

The Georgetown University women's basketball team will host the Seton Hall University Pirates on Wednesday at McDonough Arena in a BIG EAST Conference matchup. The opening tip is slated for 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the BIG EAST Digital Network on FloSports with Eliza Kravitz and Monika Moore calling the action.

About the Hoyas
  • Georgetown (10-9, 3-7 BIG EAST) downed the Providence College Friars 61-51 on Saturday evening at Alumni Hall.
  • Junior captain Kelsey Ransom led the way with 25 points including a career-best 12-21 performance from the field. She also tallied her third-career double-double with a squad-high 10 rebounds as well as four steals in the contest.
  • Freshman Kennedy Fauntleroy added 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals, she was 3-6 from beyond the arc.
  • The Hoyas shot 42.2% (27-64) from the field, and the Blue & Gray allowed 34.7% (17-49) shooting by the Friars.
  • The Hoyas outrebounded Providence, 42-35, and forced 23 Friar turnovers on 12 steals.
  • Fauntleroy was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the fifth time this season on Monday, while Ransom was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after the Hoyas went 2-0 in league play last week.
  • Fauntleroy is the BIG EAST's top-scoring freshman at 12.5 points per game, including 14.8 in conference play.
  • Fauntleroy also ranks third among all BIG EAST players this season with her 2.4 steals per game average.
  • Overall, Fauntleroy is leading the team in scoring and sitting behind Ransom with 45 steals and 56 assists on the year.
  • Ransom is 17th in the league in scoring, sitting just behind Fauntleroy with 12.4 ppg as well as 12.7 ppg in league play.
  • She leads the league in steals with 2.9 spg which ranks her 20th in the nation.
  • The junior captain is second on the team in scoring and leads the squad in rebounds, steals and assists with 123, 55 and 66, respectively.
About the Pirates
  • Seton Hall is 13-7 on the season and 6-4 in BIG EAST Conference play.
  • The Hall is coming off of an 80-61 loss at Marquette on Sunday afternoon.
  • Beginning on November 25, Seton Hall had won 11 of 12 games, but the squad has now lost its last three with defeats by Creighton, UConn and the Golden Eagles.
  • Seton Hall boasts three players averaging double figures including Lauren Park-Lane who is averaging 19.3 ppg to rank third in the BIG EAST Conference.
Series Information
  • The Hoyas are 29-44 all-time against the Pirates and 19-16 at home.
  • The last meeting between the teams was a 72-62 setback at Walsh Gymnasium in late December.
  • In that game, the Pirates used a 17-2 run in the fourth quarter to get the lead down the stretch.
  • Sophomore Ariel Jenkins led the way with a career-high 18 points to go along with a squad-best seven rebounds in the contest.
  • The last victory over SHU was a 51-43 triumph at home during the 2018-19 season.
