Georgetown Hosts Seton Hall Tuesday

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University men's basketball team hosts the Seton Hall Pirates on Tuesday evening in a conference matchup. Tipoff at Capital One Arena is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. The Hoyas are coming off a 95-73 loss to Marquette on Saturday afternoon while Seton Hall is coming off a 76-51 win over Butler on Saturday evening.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • The Hoyas enter Tuesday's game with a 5-12 overall record and an 0-6 mark in BIG EAST action after dropping their last contest at Marquette on Saturday.
  • Primo Spears led four Hoyas in double figures Saturday with 18 points on 7-of-17 shooting and filled the stat sheet tallying five rebounds and seven assists.
  • Wayne Bristol Jr. had an efficient day shooting going 4-of-4 from behind the arc tallying 16 points, one rebound, two steals and two assists. Jordan Riley and Akok Akok rounded out the Hoyas in double figures with 16 and 10 points, respectively.
  • Spears' 15.6 ppg leads a quartet of Hoyas averaging double figures, followed by Brandon Murray (15.0 ppg), Jay Heath (13.4 ppg) and Wahab (10.5 ppg).
  • On the glass, Qudus Wahab leads the team with 7.6 rpg while Akok chips in 7.1 rpg.
  • Spears paces the offense with 5.3 apg, good enough for fourth in the BIG EAST Conference. Akok's 1.9 bpg also rank fifth in the league.
 
ABOUT THE PIRATES
  • Seton Hall (9-8, 2-4 BIG EAST) is coming off a 76-51 win over Butler on Saturday evening.
  • Kadary Richmond filled the stat sheet with 11 points, eight rebounds and nine assists in 29 minutes of action.
  • Tyrese Samuel led all scorers with 19 points on 9-of-11 shooting and chipped in seven rebounds and a steal.
  • Al-Amir Dawes and Tray Jackson rounded out the Pirates in double figures with 12 and 15 points, respectively.
  • Dawes and Samuel chip in 11.0 ppg apiece as the duo putting up double-figure scoring. Samuel leads the team in rebounding as well averaging 6.4 rpg.
  • Shaheen Holloway is in his first season at the helm of the Pirates after a historic run with St. Peter's in the 2021 NCAA Tournament.
 
ABOUT THE SERIES
  • Tuesday's matchup will be the 117th all-time dating back to 1909. The Hoyas lead the series 61-55.
  • In the last contest, the Hoyas fell 57-53 in the BIG EAST Tournament. A trio of Hoyas were able to score in double figures with Aminu Mohammed leading the way with a double-double scoring 12 points and adding 10 rebounds, one steal, one block and three assists.
