Georgetown Football Hosts Colgate

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team (4-3, 2-0 PL) is back on the Hilltop to face Colgate (2-4, 0-1 PL) on Saturday, October 21. Kickoff is slated for 3 p.m. on Cooper Field.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • The Hoyas picked up a second consecutive Patriot League win last week at Lehigh 17-7. The Hoyas are now 4-3 overall and 2-0 in league play. 
  • Quarterback Tyler Knoop was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week for his career performance against the Mountain Hawks. The Texas native completed 26 of 32 passes for one touchdown and a career high of 332 yards. 
  • Against Lehigh, Joshua Stakely and Jimmy Kibble both recorded touchdowns in their second consecutive games for the Hoyas.   
  • Patriot League Rookie of the Week Zeruan Daniel made one interception that set up the Hoyas' third quarter field goal to regain the lead 10-7. The safety is now tied for first in the league with two interceptions this season. 
  • Nicholas Dunneman leads the Hoya receivers with 40 catches for 369 yards and one touchdown while Jimmy Kibble recorded the longest catch for GU this season for 65 yards. 
  • Defensively, the Blue & Gray lead the league in total defense, passing defense and interceptions with six returned for 146 yards and one touchdown. 
ABOUT THE COLGATE RAIDERS
  • Last weekend, Colgate earned a 27-24 overtime victory against Dartmouth after a fourth quarter comeback by the Big Green. 
  • Quarterback Zach Osborne completed 27 of 38 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
  • Senior placekicker Jacob Jaworski was named Patriot League Special Teams Player of the Week after nailing both of his field goals including the game winning 20-yard field goal in overtime. 
  • Treyvhon Saunders is second in the league with 73.2 receiving yards per game including two touchdown catches. 
  • Defensively, Owen Goss leads the Raiders with 40 tackles (26 solo, 14 assists) including one tackle for loss, one broken up pass and one forced fumble. 
THE MATCHUP
Georgetown and Colgate will face off for the 20th time in program history with the Raiders holding the 18-1 record.
