Hoya Alum Alec May Inducted to King Philip Hall of Fame

WASHINGTON –  Georgetown University Football Alum Alec May (C '14) was inducted into the King Philip Hall of Fame on Saturday, October 21. May joined 14 former student-athletes from King Philip Regional High School as the seventh class of inductees into the Athletics Hall of Fame.

"Alec is one of the most competitive individuals I have encountered over the past 30 years," said Head Coach Rob Sgarlata. "He has applied this incredible work ethic to his athletic and professional career with great success. He is very deserving of this Hall of Fame Honor from King Philip Regional High School."

Alec May | DL | 2011-14 | Wrenthem, Mass. 
  • May had a breakout senior season, setting a single-season Georgetown program record and leading the NCAA with 16.5 sacks. 
  • He finished third in Hoya history with 29 career sacks. 
  • He led all Division I FCS defensive linemen with 89 total tackles and his 142 tackles for loss yards was also among the top totals in the nation.
  • May became the 25th All-America selection in Georgetown football history, while also earning First Team All-ECAC and First Team All-Patriot League honors.
  • In 2014, he was a finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award, given to the Division I FCS Most Valuable Defensive Player, and the William V. Campbell Trophy, considered the "Academic Heisman." 
  • He was a two-time Patriot League All-Academic First Team selection and a four-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection.
  • Named to the 2014 College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) FCS Awards Watch List.
  • Received an invitation to the Detroit Lions Rookie Camp in 2015.
