WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's volleyball program (14-16, 5-13) fell to Providence (9-21, 3-15) on the road Saturday (19-25, 25-22, 16-25, 26-24, 18-16). The Hoyas finish out the BIG EAST season 5-13 in the conference.
Hoya Highlights:
- Four Hoyas finished with double digit kills: Mary Grace Goyena had a match-high 18 kills, Peyton Wilhite had 17, Kamryn Lee-Caracci had 11, and Maria Filippova had 10.
- Lee-Caracci and Wilhite also combined for 11 blocks at the net, with six from Lee-Caracci and five from Wilhite.
- Karis Park continued an extremely strong weekend, following up Friday's 26 dig performance with 25 digs against Providence.
- The Hoyas outhit the Friars .248 to .192, and tallied six more kills than their opposition (63 to 57).
- Freshman Emily Wen had 51 assists, a match high.
Providence Notes:
- Lyric Berry led all players with a match-high seven blocks, six assists and one solo.
- Freshman Macy Taylor led the Providence offense with 18 kills and 21 points. She also added two aces, two blocks, and 13 digs.
- Providence has now defeated the Hoyas twice this season, both in five-set battles.
