WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team's defensive lineman VeRon Garrison has been named to the Academic All-Patriot League team as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

The 16-member all-academic team was selected by a vote of the league's sports information directors who could not cast a vote for their own student-athletes. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade point average, must have at least sophomore standing at his institution and must have played in at least 50 percent of the team's games.

As a team captain, he played in all 11 games for the Hoyas.
Totaled 24 tackles (18 solo, 6 assists), 2.5 tackles for a loss of eight yards, one fumble recovery and one blocked punt.
