WASHINGTON – Georgetown University men's basketball's Rowan Brumbaugh was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week as announced by the league office in New York on Monday. It is the third weekly honor of the season for the Blue & Gray and the first of his career for the District native. The honor comes after a 2-0 week for the Blue & Gray that saw the Hoyas defeat Coppin State at home (71-54) and snag an overtime road win at Notre Dame (72-68 in overtime).
 
ROWAN BRUMBAUGH (FRESHMAN / GUARD / 6-4 / 183 / WASHINGTON, D.C.)

• In a 2-0 week for Georgetown, Brumbaugh averaged 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists. He made 8-of-16 from the field and was a perfect 11-of-11 from the foul line.
• His basket with 1.2 seconds left in regulation forced overtime in a 72-68 victory at Notre Dame.
• Brumbaugh's 14.5 ppg led the Hoyas in scoring this week after he managed 15 points in South Bend to go along with 14 points at Capital One Arena against CSU.
• His 1.8 steals per game on the season ranks fifth in the BIG EAST Conference while his five-steal performance against Coppin State is tied for second best among all BE individual performances.
• This is the first Freshman of the Week accolade for Brumbaugh, in his first season in the BIG EAST Conference.

The Hoyas remain on the road on Tuesday, December 19 when they face the Butler University Bulldogs to open BIG EAST Conference play at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
