Hoyas Fall at Creighton

OMAHA, Neb. – The Georgetown University women's basketball team fell to the Creighton University Bluejays 75-34 Saturday afternoon at D.J. Sokol Arena in Omaha, Nebraska. With the loss, the Blue & Gray drops to 12-15 overall and 5-13 in BIG EAST play.

How it Happened
  • Creighton (19-7, 13-5 BIG EAST) jumped out to an 8-0 lead forcing an early Georgetown timeout.
  • However, the regroup would not help as the Bluejays were able to build the lead to as much as 20, but a late free throw from junior captain Kelsey Ransom made it 24-5 at the end of the first quarter.
  • The Blue & Gray would not find the run it needed to get back in it and the Hoyas trailed 40-13 at the break.
  • Georgetown upped the pace in the second half and began to hit, but the Jays had an answer at every turn.
  • At the end of the third, GU was trailing and the Hoyas would eventually fall by a score of 75-34.
