Georgetown Opens Penn Relays on a Strong Note

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown track & field team opened the 2023 Penn Relays with a quartet of performances on Thursday night. The Hoyas started the three-day meet held at historic Franklin Field on a strong note, running season and career bests in all races, with a trio as part of the renowned Distance Night.

ON THE RECORD
"Great start to our Penn Relays weekend. Renee Newton ran a season's best 60.85 in the 400m hurdles to kick things off for the Hoyas. Freshman Luke Ondracek made his way over a lot more barriers in the 3,000m steeplechase to run a respectable 9:14.77 in only his second effort running the event. We also had some competitive performances from seniors Pippa Nuttall in the 5,000m and Rusty Kujdych in the 10,000m to close out Distance night. We're looking forward to getting things going with our relays on Friday." - Director of Track & Field / Cross Country Alton McKenzie
