Georgetown Falls at Xavier

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University baseball team fell to Xavier 3-2 at Hayden Field on Thursday afternoon. With the loss the Hoyas slide to 27-25 and 8-10 in conference play while Xavier improves to 34-20 and 14-5 in conference action.

ON THE RECORD
"Great job by Xavier tonight, their pitcher was outstanding. They did a good job in the fifth inning scoring those two runs and we didn't play clean enough defensively today. Cody Bowker gave us a great start and for a freshman to pitch in that type of environment was good to see. Kai Leckszas and Tyler Mead did a solid job out of the bullpen for us as well. Ubaldo Lopez tying the all-time home run record is a fantastic accomplishment and something that he should be very proud of. Today wasn't our day but we will regroup, and we look forward to getting back out here tomorrow and competing." - Head Coach Edwin Thompson

  • In the bottom of the sixth the Musketeers loaded the bases with no outs. After Jordan Yoder got the first out, Everett Catlett came in and got GU out of a jam getting a 4-6-3 double play to end the inning with the score even.
