Hoyas Compete at Kehoe Twilight Meet

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's track & field team stayed local this weekend with the short trip to College Park, Maryland for the 2023 Kehoe Twilight Meet, held at the Jim Kehoe Track Complex on the campus of the University of Maryland. The Hoyas used it as a last opportunity for recording fast times before the championship portion of the schedule.
 
HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
  • In her first long jump of the season, Eni Akinniyi jumped 5.18m [17' 0"] to take third on her second jump. She added a win in the triple jump with a mark of 11.84m [38' 10.25"] while teammate Alexis Emery finished third in the event (10.53m / 34' 6.75").
  • In a pair of jumps, Noah Toole finished second in the triple jump with a collegiate PR 12.90m [42' 4"] and was third in long jump with a mark of 6.75m [22' 1.75"].
  • Theo Woods took third place in the men's 800-meter run, clocking 1:48.96, a season best.
  • The women's 100-meter hurdles saw a pair of PRs with Grace Smiechowski finishing fourth (15.34) and Mackenzie O'Connor finishing fifth (15.69). O'Connor also finished fifth in the long jump with a new PR (5.06m / 16' 7.25").
  • Pippa Nuttall, fresh off a PR in the 5,000m at Penn Relays, managed a PR in the 1,500-meter run with a third-place showing timing in at 4:28.85. It was a good test of speed work for the distance specialist.
  • Drew Robinson crossed the finish line with a time of 10.81 in the 100-meter dash, a new collegiate PR.
 
UP NEXT
Georgetown returns to action on Thursday, May 11 as the Blue & Gray will compete at the 2023 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships, presented by JEEP, held at Jumbo Elliott Track on the campus of Villanova University in Pennsylvania.
