Mateen Ibirogba were selected as defensive linemen while sophomore
Wedner Cadet was chosen as a defensive back.
Ibri Harrell | DL | Jr. | Hampton, Va. - Patriot League Preseason All-League Team
- Last season, Harrell played in 10 games for the Hoyas and totaled 41 tackles with 21 solo.
- The Virginia native tallied a career high of five sacks for a loss of 40 yards last season.
- Earned a Patriot League weekly honorable mention for his personal-best 12 tackles and two sacks for a loss of 16 against Fordham.
Mateen Ibirogba | DL | So. | Clarksburg, Md. - Patriot League Preseason All-League Team
- Last season, Ibirogba played in nine games for the Hoyas and recorded 18 total tackles with 11 solo.
- The sophomore tallied three sacks for a loss of 19 yards and recorded one forced fumble.
- Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week after recording 2.5 sacks for a loss of 14 yards, the most in a single game by a Hoya freshman under Head Coach Rob Sgarlata.
- The Maryland native finished the 2022 season in second among FCS freshmen with 6.5 total sacks, which is also the most by a freshman under Sgarlata.
Wedner Cadet | DB | So. | Wellesley, Mass. - Patriot League Preseason All-League Team
- Last season, Cadet played nine games for the Hoyas.
- Led the Hoyas and the Patriot League with five interceptions which was good for sixth in the nation.
- Ranked fifth in the FCS with 125 return yards on interceptions.
- The sophomore was a finalist for the 2022 FCS Jerry Rice Award.
- Named to the 2022 Stats Perform FCS All-American Team, HERO Sports' FCS All-American Freshman Team and the Phil Steele FCS All-Patriot League Second Team.
