TOWSON, Md. – Georgetown University's field hockey team dropped a close BIG EAST battle 3-2 with visiting Quinnipiac at the Towson Field Hockey Complex Friday afternoon. The Hoyas fall to 1-9 on the season and 0-3 in league play while the Bobcats improve to 4-4 overall and 2-1 in BIG EAST action.

How it Happened
- Georgetown took an early lead just 3:36 into the game as Towne redirected a feeding pass from van der Veen for the score.
- Quinnipiac evened things up just three minutes later.
- Leahy's goal in the second frame came off a beautiful baseline cross from Towne before impressive stick work beat the Bobcat keeper one-on-one to take a 2-1 lead.
- Quinnipiac made it 2-2 at the 21:45 mark in the second, knotting the game going into halftime.
- Coming out of the break, neither team could find the back of the cage until the Bobcats scored off a rebound with two minutes to play.

- Sophia Pompeo, Emilia Massarelli and Olivia Howard each had a goal for the Bobcats.
- Lucia Pompeo was credited with an assist.
- Cristina Torres had four saves in the win.
