Football Faces No. 15/RV Fordham on Homecoming

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team is back on the Hilltop for Homecoming weekend as they open conference action against the No. 15/RV Fordham Rams on Saturday, September 30. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m. on Cooper Field.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • The Hoyas will be looking to bounce back after falling to Columbia on the road 30-0. 
  • Joshua Stakely is now fourth in the Patriot League and 27th in the FCS with 88.5 rushing yards per game.
  • The Hoya run game is second in the Patriot League with 201 yards per game.
  • Defensively, linebacker Naiteitei Mose leads the Blue & Gray with 21 total tackles (14 solo and 7 assists). The sophomore also has two tackles for a loss of 21 yards, one broken up pass and one quarterback hit. 
  • The Hoya defense leads the league with four interceptions returned for 114 yards and one touchdown. 
  • Quarterback Tyler Knoop has an efficiency rating of 125.30 and ranks third in the Patriot League with six touchdowns.  
ABOUT THE RAMS
  • Fordham shut out Stonehill last weekend in a 44-0 win. 
  • Rams quarterback C.J. Montes completed 14 passes and threw two touchdowns against the Skyhawks. The sophomore leads the Patriot League with 1046 yards and 13 touchdowns.
  • Wide receiver M.J. Wright made three catches and one touchdown last weekend and leads the league with 374 yards.
  • Defensively the Rams are led by James Conway with 40 tackles (23 solo and 17 assist). The junior also has one forced fumble, one broken up pass and two hits on the quarterback.
THE MATCHUP
  • Saturday's contest will mark the 69th meeting between the Hoyas and the Rams. 
  • Last year the Hoyas fell to the Rams 59-38 on the road. Ibri Harrell led the Hoya defense with 12 tackles including 2.5 tfl and two sacks.
  • Saturday marks the first day of student athlete mental health awareness week. GU joins 150+ universities across the nation in partnering with Hilinski's Hope to play a game in honor of Tyler Hilinski. The Hoyas will wear green Hilinski's Hope ribbons on the back of their helmets to show support during the game.
