COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Georgetown University's field hockey team dropped its final home BIG EAST game 4-1 to visiting Providence on Friday afternoon. The Hoyas fall to 3-11 overall and 1-5 in league play while the Friars move to 7-8 on the year and 3-3 in conference action.
Colleen Maloney scored the lone goal for the Hoyas, finding a rebound in front of the cage in the final minutes of the game.
Ella Fahey (2-10) had seven saves for the Blue & Gray in the loss.
Ally DeCoste had two goals and an assist to lead the Friars. Asia Porter had three saves in the win.
The Hoyas close out their 2024 home slate against VCU on Saturday, October 26 at 5 p.m. Four Georgetown seniors –
Elena Leahy,
Bailey Tietz,
Sophie Towne and
Emma van der Veen – will be recognized on Senior Day before the game. All Georgetown home games this season are played at the University of Maryland Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex in College Park, Maryland.
