Georgetown Football Hosts Lehigh

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University football team (5-3, PL 2-1) is back on the Hilltop on Saturday to take on Patriot League foe Lehigh (4-3, PL 1-1). Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Cooper Field.

ABOUT THE HOYAS
  • The Hoyas are coming off of a 21-20 home victory over Bucknell last Saturday.
  • Savion Hart earned his first Patriot League Weekly Honorable Mention as he led the GU running backs with 17 rushes for 114 yards and one touchdown against the Bison. The freshmen set a career high with the longest rush of the evening for 40 yards.
  • Georgetown's defense held the Bison scoreless in the third quarter and had 20 Hoyas record a tackle in the win.
  • Kicker Patrick Ryan earned his fifth Patriot League Weekly Honorable Mention of the season after going 3-3 in PATs and punting six times for 254 yards.This season, Ryan is 5-7 in field goals and 24-25 in PATs. 
  • Defensive lineman Cooper Blomstrom is second in the league with 11 TFLs and 6.5 sacks. 
  • The Blue & Gray's defense leads the league with an average of 21.9 points per game. GU also leads in sacks (25) and is second in interceptions (9). 
  • Jimmy Kibble leads Patriot League receivers with 651 receiving yards.
  • Quarterback Danny Lauter has thrown 2444 completions for 1651 yards and 10 touchdowns. 
  • Georgetown is fourth in the FCS with 24 sacks (average of 3 per game). 
  • Freshman defensive lineman Isaac Saffold joined 29 other players as part of the 2024 Stats Perform FCS Jerry Rice Award Watch List, which is presented to the national freshman of the year in college football's Division I subdivision.
ABOUT THE MOUNTAIN HAWKS
  • Lehigh is coming off its first Patriot League win 33-19 over Fordham at home last Saturday. 
  • Graduate student linebacker Mike DeNucci was named Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week and first-year running back Jaden Green was recognized as Rookie of the Week for their performances against the Rams. 
  • The Mountain Hawks lead the league in rushing offense with an average of 192.7 yards per game and 19 touchdowns. 
  • Luke Yoder leads Lehigh's ground game with 109 rushes for 638 yards and nine touchdowns. 
  • On defense, DeNucci leads with 55 tackles. The linebacker has also recorded 6.5 TFLs, 3.5 sacks, two PBU and one quarterback hurry.  
ABOUT THE MATCHUP
  • Georgetown and Lehigh will meet for the 28th time in program history. The Hoyas are 7-20 against the Mountain Hawks. 
  • The Hoyas earned a 17-7 victory over Lehigh in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania last season.
  • In the win last season, the Hoyas led the Mountain Hawks with 457 yards and time of possession at 40:21 while freshman Zeraun Daniel tallied four solo tackles and one interception.
