WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's field hockey team dropped a 2-1 decision on the road at Sacred Heart on Sunday afternoon in nonconference action. The Hoyas fall to 3-7 overall while the Pioneers improve to 4-7 overall.
Elena Perez Alejandro scored the lone goal for the Hoyas, netting her second goal of the weekend late in the fourth quarter.
After a scoreless first half, Sacred Heart posted both its goals in the third quarter. Perez Alejandro's goal pulled the Hoyas within one with 5:30 remaining, but the Blue & Gray wouldn't manage another shot on goal down the stretch.

Bailey Tietz had four saves in the loss while
Caroline Suko added a defensive save on a late SHU penalty corner.
Ines Braithwaite and Emma Brayford led Sacred Heart with a goal each while Aine Keaney, Abby Lauer and Jaden Ray each had assists. Samantha Maresca had six saves in the win.
The Hoyas return home to host Old Dominion in BIG EAST action on Thursday, October 10 at 5 p.m. All Georgetown home games will be played at the University of Maryland Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex in College Park, Maryland.
