Georgetown Football Falls to Fordham

WASHINGTON – The Georgetown football team fell 31-3 at Fordham on Saturday afternoon. The Hoyas are now 2-3 in league play and 5-5 overall, while Fordham is now 2-4 in the Patriot League and 2-9 overall.

HOYA HIGHLIGHTS 
  • GianCarlo Rufo led the GU defense with eight tackles (6 solo, 2 assists) and one TFL.
  • Cam Pygatt led recievers with seven catches for 135 yards. 
  • Quarterback Jacob Holtschlag threw 19 passes for 253 yards. 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Rams got the first score of the game with a two-yard rushing touchdown from Julius Loughridge at the 8:21 mark. After a successful PAT, Fordham had a 7-0 lead. 
  • With eight seconds remaining in the first quarter, the Rams extended their lead 14-0 after a touchdown by Jeff Ciccio. 
  • At the 12:09 mark of the second quarter, Bennett Henderson kicked a 28-yard field goal to put the Rams up 17-0.
  • The Hoyas got on the board at 5:22 mark of the second quarter after an 18-yard field goal by Patrick Ryan.
  • The Rams response came in the closing seconds of the third quarter. Jack Capaldi caught a 12-yard touchdown pass to put Fordham up 24-3.
  • The Rams returned an interception in the middle of the fourth quarter to earn their final touchdown of the contest and secure a 31-3 victory. 
UP NEXT
Next week the Hoyas will return to Hilltop for the final game of the 2024 season against Holy Cross on November 23. Kickoff is slated for 12:30 p.m. on ESPN+. The Hoyas will honor their seniors on Cooper Field in a Senior Day ceremony following the contest.
