Georgetown Falls at Marquette

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Georgetown University women's basketball team fell to the Marquette University Golden Eagles 52-38 on Wednesday evening in a BIG EAST Conference matchup at the Al McGuire Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. With the loss, the Hoyas drop to 15-8 on the season and 5-7 in league play, while the Golden Eagles improve to 18-5 for the year and 7-5 in the conference.

How it Happened

  • The second quarter stayed quiet, but both squads managed to get to the line. Marquette would build a small lead going into the half on top 20-14.
  • Marquette heated up in the third quarter, and the foul woes continued for the Hoyas sending MU to the line.
  • The Golden Eagles built the lead to as much as 16 points, but triples from sophomore Victoria Rivera and junior Brianna Scott throughout the period stopped the momentum.
  • Georgetown trailed 41-26 at the end of the third.
  • The Blue & Gray would never find the comeback as Marquette cruised to the 52-38 victory.
