WASHINGTON - Georgetown softball tied the game twice, but came up short in a 12-7 loss to Seton Hall in the final game of the three game series on Sunday, March 17, at Washington Nationals Youth Academy. The Hoyas are now 10-16 on the season and 1-5 in BIG EAST play while Seton Hall is 9-11 and 3-3 in league action.

After a scoreless second inning, Dayanara Campos' sac-fly in the third inning brought Brooke Rebhan home, tying that game at one

Georgetown took a 3-1 lead in the fourth inning after Claire Turner's single through the right side brought Gianna Sciullo and Maicie Levitt home.

Seton Hall earned one run back in the fifth with a home run.

In the sixth, the Pirates took a 5-3 lead after hitting a three-run home run.

In the bottom of the seventh trailing by two, Campos tied the game with a clutch two run home run over the center field wall, forcing the game to go into extra innings.

After a scoreless eighth inning, Seton Hall took a two run lead in the top of the ninth.

The Hoyas battled back again in the bottom of the ninth. Turner opened the inning with a leadoff triple.

Emilly Strittmatter's sac-fly brought Turner home, cutting the deficit to one.

Later in the inning, Camryn Wincher tied the game with a sac-fly of her own, which brought Rebhan home for her third run of the game.

Seton Hall scored five runs in the tenth. The Hoyas were unable to rally for a third time as Seton Hall took the game 12-7.

Rebhan scored a career high three runs in the game. She also tallied a double and three walks.

Campos tallied three RBI's and a run. Her game tying home run in the seventh inning was her sixth of the year. She now has 13 RBIs in her last seven games.

Turner notched two RBIs and a run. She also hit a triple which started the Hoyas rally in the ninth inning.

Sciullo and Levitt each recorded a run while Wincher hit an RBI.

From the circle, Kayla Dunn threw 5.2 innings while Julia Parker pitched for 4.1 innings.
