WASHINGTON - Georgetown softball was defeated by Butler 11-6 in the second game of the three-game series on Saturday, April 13 at Washington Nationals Youth Academy. The Hoyas are now 10-25 on the season and 1-12 in BIG EAST play while Butler is 19-21 and 8-9 in league action.

Butler opened the game with two first inning runs.

Georgetown answered when Dayanara Campos hit a three-run home run to left field in the bottom of the first inning.

After a scoreless second inning, Butler tied the game at three in the top of the third.

Emily Strittmatter put the Hoyas back in front with a two-run home run of her own.

Later in the inning, Gabby Park hit a single through the right side, bringing Maicie Levitt home from third to put Georgetown up 6-3.

Neither team was able to score any runs in the fourth inning.

Butler retook the lead with a six-run fifth inning.

The Bulldogs added another run in both the sixth and seventh innings, allowing Butler to win 11-6.

Campos notched three RBIs, two hits, a run and two walks in the game. Her home run in the first inning was her ninth of the season and second in the series.

Strittmatter hit her first career home run in the third inning. She recorded two hits, two runs and two RBIs in the game.
