TYSONS, Va. – The Georgetown University baseball team dropped game three of the series with UConn 7-6 on Sunday morning. With the loss, the Hoyas slide to 26-13 and 8-4 in BIG EAST play while the Huskies improve to 20-18 and 7-2 in conference action.
ON THE RECORD
"Tough weekend for the Hoyas, UConn is a really good program and came in today and played better than we did. Unfortunately, we had the tying run on third in the bottom of the ninth back-to-back days and to lose like that is disappointing. I thought they earned it and they played well. Our guys fought hard, the back end of our bullpen,
Marcello Mastroianni,
Andrew Citron and
Nick Davis gave us a chance.
Christian Ficca had a big home run for us to cut the deficit to one we just couldn't get that big hit when we needed it all weekend. We will learn and grow from this weekend and we will be ready to go on Tuesday against George Washington." Head Coach
Edwin Thompson
