WASHINGTON - Georgetown softball was defeated by St. John's 5-0 in the final game of the three-game series on Sunday, April 21 at Washington Nationals Youth Academy. The Hoyas are now 12-27 on the season and 3-15 in BIG EAST play while St. John's is 23-23 and 12-9 in league action.
How it Happened

St. John's scored two runs in the first inning to open the game.

In the bottom of the first, Claire Turner hit a lead off single to right center and later stole second. However, Georgetown was unable to advance her any further.

St. John's added another run in the second inning, increasing their lead to 3-0.

After a scoreless third, St. John's managed to have bases loaded with only one out in the fourth.

In a jam Avery Wissmar struck out the next batter and then forced a fly out to escape the inning without letting up any runs.

Neither team was able to get on base in the fifth and sixth innings.

The Red Storm added two more runs in the top of the seventh.

Georgetown was unable to gather any momentum in the seventh inning, allowing St. John's to take the win 5-0.
