WASHINGTON – Georgetown softball was defeated by Towson 5-1 in a midweek contest on Tuesday afternoon in Towson, Maryland. The Hoyas are now 12-28 on the season while remaining 3-15 in BIG EAST play, and Towson advances to 20-27 and 8-13 in CAA action.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Towson scored a run in the first inning, opening the game.
- The Hoyas answered in the bottom of the third with a Claire Turner single sending Gabby Park across the plate to tie the game 1-1.
- In the bottom of the fourth, Towson exploded with four runs with a double, a single and two Hoya fielding errors.
- Neither side would be able to add another run through the end of the seventh inning, with the final score of 5-1 standing.
HOYA HIGHLIGHTS
- Turner, Park and Dayanara Campos each notched a hit.
- Julia Parker took the loss on the mound with 3.1 innings pitched and three strikeouts, while Kayla Dunn pitched 2.2 with 2 strikeouts.
