WASHINGTON - Georgetown softball was defeated by Providence 4-1 in the final game of the three-game series on Sunday, April 28 In Providence, Rhode Island. The Hoyas are now 13-30 on the season and 4-17 in BIG EAST play while Providence is 20-21-1 and 10-11 in league action.

After a scoreless first inning, Providence recorded four runs in the second inning to take an early lead.

Kayla Dunn threw back-to-back 1-2-3 innings in the third and fourth.

Georgetown earned a run back when Dayanara Campos hit a solo home run off the Providence scoreboard in the fourth inning.

Georgetown stranded two Providence base runners in the fifth inning.

After a scoreless sixth, Georgetown needed three runs in the top of the seventh to extend the game, but could not gather the needed momentum allowing Providence to secure the win 4-1.
