VILLANOVA, Pa. – Georgetown University's men's lacrosse team defeated Providence 14-13 in overtime to advance to the finals of the BIG EAST Championship, Presented by JEEP. Senior captain Aidan Carroll hit the game-winner with 48 seconds left in the extra period, capping a seven-goal, two-assist performance for the 10th-ranked Hoyas.

• Carroll scored seven goals, including the game-winner in overtime, to go with two assists for nine points on the night.
• Jack Schubert added four goals and an assist while Graham Bundy Jr. and Alexander Vardaro both tallied a goal with two assists each.
• Jordan Wray scored a lone goal for the Blue & Gray while TJ Haley and Jack Leary both added assists
• James Ball won 14 of 31 faceoffs and collected seven ground balls.
• Defensively, Dylan Hess had two caused turnovers and two ground balls, Wallace Halpert added a caused turnover and five assists while Leary also had a caused turnover and four assists.
• In goal, Anderson Moore (11-3) had eight saves in the win.

How It Happened

• Providence took an early 2-0 lead and held the Hoyas off the board before Schubert's first goal at the 7:38 mark made it 2-1. The Friars pushed their lead to 3-1 just 27 seconds later, and following Carroll's first goal at the 6:17 mark, pushed it to 4-2 with just over five minutes to play. Georgetown closed out the frame with back-to-back goals from Carroll and Wray to knot things up at 4-4.
• After a slow start to the first, Carroll netted another pair to give the Blue & Gray their first lead of the game at 6-4. Providence answered with 5:16 remaining before the Hoyas scored three goals in a 2:05 span to lead 9-5, capped by Schubert's first career hat trick. Keeping pace, the Friars scored a pair of goals in the final 1:13 of the half to pull within two, down 9-7 at the break.
• Coming out of the locker room, Providence kept its momentum going with three-straight goals in the first eight minutes of the third to retake the lead at 10-9. The Friars added another pair to lead 12-9 with 2:27 to go, but Bundy's goal made it a 12-10 PC lead with 15 minutes to play in regulation.
• Two goals from the Hoyas to open the fourth tied things up at 12-12 but Providence retook the lead with 8:44 on the clock. A Vardaro goal with 3:50 remaining evened things up again as neither squad could close the game out in overtime.
• Georgetown won the opening faceoff in overtime, but was stopped on the initial possession. Providence tried to respond, and after a timeout, was stoned by Moore on their only offensive possession. Heading back down the other way, Carroll took matters in his own hands and fired home the game-winner for the Blue & Gray.

• Luke Jaber scored four goals for Providence while Richie Joseph had three.
• Quinn McConnaughy won 17 of 31 faceoffs and collected six ground balls.
• Defensively, Grant Latimer had two caused turnovers and three ground balls.
• James Corasaniti had nine saves in the loss.

• Georgetown advanced to its sixth-straight BIG EAST Championship finals and seventh in program history.
• Carroll's seven goals tie the program record for goals in a BIG EAST Championship game, tying Tucker Dordevic's seven in 2022, also against Providence.
