Letayf, Jennings and Mabie Named 2024 Men’s Soccer Captains

WASHINGTON - Georgetown University Head Men's Soccer Coach Brian Wiese announced the 2024 team captains on Friday. Junior Diego Letayf was selected as a second-year captain, while seniors Maximus Jennings and Blaine Mabie joined him being selected by the coaching staff and their teammates to lead the 2024 squad on the Hilltop this fall.

Diego Letayf

  • Letayf is entering his junior season, but has been on the Hilltop since January of 2022 after beginning his studies a semester early.
  • He was also a captain during the 2023 campaign.
  • In his second season playing on the Hilltop, he appeared in 13 games with 12 starts in the midfield.
  • Letayf tallied assists in victories over James Madison, Butler and UConn.
  • On the defensive end of the pitch, he aided in the six shutouts for the Hoyas in 2023.
Maximus Jennings
Defender
Montclair, N.J. / The Hotchkiss School
  • Jennings was drafted by Real Salt Lake with the 18th pick in the third round and 76th overall in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.
  • Last season, he started all 19 games for the Hoyas on the backline.
  • Jennings scored five goals with one assist for 11 points on the season to rank fifth on the squad.
  • On defense, he was on a backline that posted eight shutouts on the season.
  • The defender was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on 10/9 and earned three nods to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll (9/5, 10/2, 10/30).

  • Mabie appeared in 18 games last season with two starts to his credit.
  • He was a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selection.
