WASHINGTON – The Georgetown football team completed a fourth-quarter comeback to earn a 20-17 victory over Columbia in the Lou Little Trophy game on Cooper Field on Saturday afternoon. The Hoyas advance to 3-2 on the season while Columbia is now 1-1.
ON THE RECORD
"It was a great day on the Hilltop. It was awesome to bring Lou Little back to D.C. I am proud of how our kids prepared this week. We went back to fundamentals and talked about the things that we have been talking about since camp started. We had incredible individual performances by
Danny Lauter,
Jimmy Kibble and Nick Dunneman on offense, and then David Ealey,
Cooper Blomstrom and Preston Murry are just three names out of 20 that answered the bell on defense today. It was a great team win for our program and I am really proud with how hard they came out and fought through all four quarters against a quality opponent. Coach Poppe is doing a great job at Columbia. We are looking forward to getting healthy in the bye week and starting Patriot League play at Lafayette when we return in two weeks." - Head Coach
Rob Sgarlata on today's contest.
