WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's field hockey team dropped a tightly-contested game 1-0 at Saint Francis (Pa.) on Sunday afternoon. The Hoyas fall to 1-2 on the year while the Red Flash improve to 2-2 overall.
Ella Fahey collected six saves on the day, allowing the lone goal just under three minutes into the second half.
Georgetown registered six shots in the game, including three on target.
Sydney Yodh had a pair of shots on goal while
Elizabeth Rossotti added the other.
The Hoyas increased pressure and had opportunities to knot things up in the final five minutes, but shots off of penalty corner attempts from
Elena Leahy and
Elena Perez Alejandro were blocked by the Red Flash defense.
Dolores Zavaleta scored the lone goal for SFU while Mia DiGenova had three saves in the win.
Georgetown returns to action on Friday at Towson.
