WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's field hockey team lost 5-0 to visiting Villanova in BIG EAST play on Friday afternoon at Kehoe Field. With the loss, the Hoyas fall to 2-8 on the season and 0-3 in league play while the Wildcats improve to 4-6 overall and 2-1 in conference action.
After a scoreless opening frame, Villanova scored a minute into the second quarter. The Wildcats added a pair of goals in the second to take a 3-0 halftime lead and scored once in each of the final frames for the 5-0 win.
Ella Fahey and
Alex Duff combined for seven saves in the loss for the Hoyas.
Adelae Chierici and
Sydney Yodh both had a pair of shots to lead the Blue & Gray.
Ava Borkowski scored two goals for Villanova while Gemma Lysaght had a goal and an assist.
