WASHINGTON – Georgetown University's
Melissa Riggins and
Birhanu Harriman were named the BIG EAST Cross Country Athletes of the Week on Tuesday, as announced by the league. Riggins captured the individual crown in the Women's Gold 6K, while Harriman led the men's team to victory with a second-place individual finish in the Gold 8K at the Paul Short Run last Friday.

- Earned the weekly honor after a dominant performance at the prestigious Paul Short Run, where she captured the individual title in the Gold 6K race.
- Riggins won the race with a decisive time of 19:34.8, helping secure a third place finish for the Hoyas.
Birhanu Harriman | Jr. | Lebanon, N.H. | Distance
- Harriman finished as the individual runner-up in the Gold 8K with a blistering time of 23:19.2 and led the Georgetown men to take first place with 102 points.
- The New Hampshire native headlined a trio of Hoyas that placed in the top 15, while all five point scorers had a spread of less than 52 seconds.
