Jimmy Kibble Named 2025 NFF William V. Campbell Trophy Semifinalist

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University senior Jimmy Kibble was selected as one of 180 semifinalists for the 2025 National Football Foundation (NFF) William V. Campbell Trophy which were announced on September 24. 

"Jimmy embodies the true meaning of 4 for 40 at Georgetown." said Head Coach Rob Sgarlata. He is an accomplished student, goal driven athlete and a true man for others. Jimmy is a leader both on and off the field. He strives to get better every day through consistency and elite effort. He leads by both example and word. I am honored to coach Jimmy and learn from him through his journey at Georgetown."

Kibble began the 2025 season by being named team captain of the Hoyas. Through six games of action this year, the wide receiver has recorded 464 reception yards and three touchdowns. Against Morgan State on October 4, Kibble caught the game winning 49-yard Hail Mary pass that was placed sixth on Sportscenter's Top Ten Plays. 

During the 2024 season, Kibble was third in the Patriot League with 72 receiving yards per game. He totaled 46 receptions for 720 yards and three touchdowns. As a sophomore, Kibble recorded his longest career reception for 95 yards in the 50-47 win at Bucknell. 

Off the field, Kibble was named to the 2024 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. The senior also spent the summer interning at Bank of America as a Finance Management Analyst. 

Nominated by their schools, which are limited to one nominee each, candidates for the awards must be a senior who will complete his final year of eligibility in the 2025 season or a graduate student or graduate transfer who has already earned a degree and is participating in the 2025 season; have a GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale; have outstanding football ability as a first team player or significant contributor; and have demonstrated strong leadership and citizenship. The class is selected each year by the NFF Awards Committee, which is comprised of a nationally recognized group of media, NFF College Football Hall of Famers and athletics administrators.

The NFF will announce 12-16 finalists on Oct. 22, and each of them will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of the 2025 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class Presented by Fidelity Investments. The finalists will travel to the Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas for the 67th NFF Annual Awards Dinner Presented by Las Vegas on Dec. 9, where their accomplishments will be highlighted in front of one of the most powerful audiences in all of sports.

Kibble was one of eight student-athletes from the Patriot League to be named a semifinalist. The last GU student-athletes to be named a semifinalist was Mac Hollensteiner ('22) and Ahmad Wilson ('21).
