WASHINGTON – The Georgetown University volleyball team fell to the Villanova Wildcats, 3-1 (28-26, 31-33, 25-14, 25-12), on Thursday night at McDonough Arena. With the loss, GU slides to 10-8 and 3-2 in BIG EAST play on the season while the Wildcats improve to 13-3 and 4-1 in conference play.
Hoya Highlights
- Samantha Soderlund powered the Hoya offense with a team-high 15 kills and a .213 hitting percentage, while Dionna Mitchell added nine kills. Kamryn Lee-Caracci and Katherine McGregor followed closely with eight apiece.
- Lee-Caracci, Mitchell and Juleigh Urbina were strong from the service line, each recording a pair of aces.
- On the defensive end, Berkeley Ploder led the front line with six blocks, while Lee-Caracci contributed four of her own.
- Urbina directed the attack with a team-best 25 assists, supported by Natalie Nguyen with 16.
- Defensively, Soderlund anchored the back row with a team-high nine digs.
