KJ Lewis Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

WASHINGTON – Georgetown University men's basketball junior KJ Lewis was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the league office in New York on Monday. The award comes after a 2-0 week for Georgetown that saw the Hoyas defeat Morgan State 87-70 in the season opener at Capital One Arena on Monday before making the short trip to College Park on Friday to defeat the University of Maryland 70-60 at XFINITY Center. This is the first set of weekly awards of the season.
 
KJ LEWIS (JUNIOR / GUARD / 6-4 / 210 / EL PASO, TEXAS)
  • In a 2-0 week for the Hoyas, KJ Lewis led the squad tallying 15.0 ppg on 47.4% (9-19) shooting from the floor. He grabbed a squad-best 7.0 rpg while he dished out 2.0 apg and managed 2.0 spg.
  • In the home opener against the Bears, Lewis tallied 14 points on 4-for-7 shooting (57.1%) to go along with a 6-for-6 performance from the free throw line, while pulling down five rebounds to go along with three steals.
  • At Maryland, Lewis nearly had a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. He dished out a trio of assists and managed one steal.
  • This is Lewis' first nod to the honor roll and the first for the Hoyas this season.
 
UP NEXT
Georgetown will be back in action on Wednesday, November 12 when the squad returns to the District to take on Binghamton University. Tipoff at Capital One Arena is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and the game will be available on ESPN+ with Dan Kolko calling the play-by-play and Martin Bahar providing analysis. The game can be heard locally on Team 980 as well as on the SiriusXM app with Rich Chvotkin, in his 52nd season as the Voice of the Hoyas, calling the action.
